Sunny Koh Tao
Apr 9th
It’s official, the March floods are over! Koh Tao is officially paradise again. All the damage has been quickly cleaned up and the diving is getting back to usual. So spread the word…………..COME TO KOH TAO!!!
STOP THE OIL DRILLING
Feb 6th
In the not too distant future, oil drilling will commence within 55km of Koh Tao. After the extreme bleaching that took place in 2010, the coral around Koh Tao needs time to recover. The sediment from the oil drilling is going to drastically impair this vital recovery period! Please help spread the word about this and hopefully people will open their eyes.
Whales at Southwest Pinnacle
Jan 22nd
22/01/11 8:00 Southwest Pinnacle
WOW!!! After coming up from our first dive we noticed the dorsal fins breaching the surface. We had the pleasure of snorkeling for 30 mins with a total of three 6m long Brydes Whales.

3.5m Whale Shark at Chumphon Pinnacle
07:00 – we arrived at Chumphon, descended down the buoy line and was greeted at the bottom by a whale shark. I had the pleasure of spending 15 mins alone with my students and the shark before we saw any other divers! It really pays to get out early. So we also stayed for the second dive. Only had a couple of brief encounters on this dive, but till thoroughly enjoyed it.

WHALE SHARK
Chumphon Pinnacle – 7:10
8m visibility, but it didn’t matter because straight after our decent at 12m was a Whale Shark (4.5m long). After spending the entire dive with the shark, we wanted to stay there! The Whale Shark stayed at Chumphon Pinnacle the whole day.
2/1/11 & 3/1/11
For the last two days Chumphon has been the place to be to see the Whale Shark! Go there for your chance to swim with the giant before he goes.
If you see a whale shark……please let me know!!!

Chumphon & White Rock
I went to Chumphon Pinnacle with the hope of seeing Sharks………no. Ever since the 22/12, no one has seen many sharks. There have been the odd sightings, but we are all waiting for the day when we can almost guarantee to see them. So Chumphon had average vis and the barracudas had gone. White rock was nice. Lots to see and ok conditions, a good choice for this time of year after monsoon.
28/12/10
Southwest Pinnacle & Hin Ngam
Southwest Pinnacle was great! We had at least 20m visibility and the dive site all to our selves. We saw many giant groupers and a massive skool of chevron barracuda. the only down side was that there was a large fishing net over part of the pinnacle (same as on Chumphon Pinnacle yesterday). Hin Ngam was not the best dive. To start with there were big waves and also the fishing boat wreck has gone missing??? If you find it let me know!
